It is with great regret that this Saturday's Drive In Firework Display at Harborough has been cancelled on the grounds of safety relating to animals on the Showground. All tickets will be refunded today and the funds will be available in your account within the next 3-5 working days of receipt of this email. 

The reason for the cancellation is that the Leicestershire Agricultural Society have an ongoing issue with wild ponies at the venue and it was hoped that the animals would have been moved from the site in time for the event however this has not been possible despite legal proceedings taking place. 


Roaming Giraffe Events and Komodo Fireworks apologise about the situation having initially having had to postpone the display in November due to the Covid crisis. 


Hen Bevan of Roaming Giraffe said, "we feel terrible about the situation which is totally out of our hands, clearly we would never want to compromise safety of our customers or the welfare of any animals and it is for that reason we've had to cancel, we are so sorry for the disappointment that has been caused." 


We would like to sincerely thank our customers some of whom were good enough to stand by us over the November postponement. Our teams have worked tirelessly throughout the week in an attempt to 'get the show on the road' but safety is paramount. We are in the process of organising refunds and we will publish details in the near future through our social media network.

How it works

  • Book tickets online here. Tickets are £30 and charged on a per vehicle basis. 1 Ticket=entry for 1 vehicle. 

  • We will be running an at-car food delivery service at the event. IMPORTANT: We are so excited to have teamed up with the NOQ app. Read more about it, download the app and view our menu here. Food orders will go live on December 5th at 8pm (20:00). 

  • To accord with current government guidelines the number of people per car must not exceed 6 including children. 

  • Before the event we ask that you print out your tickets and place them on your windscreen so that they can be safely and easily scanned by our team at the gate. 

  • On the day of the event, gates will open at 4pm, we ask that you arrive promptly so that everyone is safely parked in time for the start of the show. The earlier you arrive, the better your view! Gates will close at 6pm (30 minutes before firing time). 

  • Upon your arrival at the showground your ticket will be scanned and you will be guided by one of our parking attendants to your parking bay. This area is your bubble . You must not leave your bubble apart from when using the toilet facilities or in the case of an emergency. 

  • Once parked you may get out of your vehicle, we simply ask that at you remain physically in contact with it in order to ensure a safe distance is kept between yourselves and your neighbours. Whenever you are outside your vehicle we kindly ask that you wear a mask. 

  • Directly after the event our parking attendants will direct you carefully off site. Please be patient and accord with our traffic management procedure.

Q: Is the event safe to attend? 

A: Yes, we have worked very closely with local authorities and public health England to guarantee that all precautions are taken to ensure your safety at the event. You must not attend the event if you have coronavirus symptoms or have been advised to self-isolate by a doctor, or a Track and Trace official. 

Q: Can I get a refund if the event is cancelled due to changes in government guidelines? 

A: If the event is unable to go ahead due to a local or national lockdown you will have the option to hold onto your ticket for the earliest rescheduled date (TBC) otherwise, you will be provided with a full refund (minus the booking fee). 

Q: How many people can I have in my vehicle? 

A: In line with government guidelines the maximum number of people in one car must not exceed 6 including children. This is the case even if your car can fit more than 6.

Q: Can I get out of my car to view the fireworks? 

A: Yes, You may stand outside your vehicle to watch the fireworks display, however we ask that you remain in physical contact with your car at any time in order to ensure that you remain a safe distance from your neighbours. All adults and children over the age of 11 must wear a face-covering at all times when outside their vehicle. If you cannot wear a mask due to medical reasons we ask that you remain in your vehicle at all times except in an emergency. 

Q: Can I keep my engine running during the show? 

A: We encourage you to switch off your engines where possible. We recognise that you may need to have the engine on for warmth or to listen to the radio, we simply ask that you are mindful of those around you when doing so. Where possible we ask that you turn off your headlights. 

Q: What time should I arrive?

A: Gates open at 5pm. We ask that you arrive promptly so you are parked safely in time to enjoy the show. The earlier you arrive the closer to the front you will be! Last access will be at 6pm (30 minutes before firing time). If you arrive after 6pm you will not be permitted entry and you will not be entitled to a refund. 

Q: Will there be food and drink available at the event? 

A: Yes, there will be a range of delicious pizzas, doughnuts, sweet treats and hot drinks available for pre-order via the NoQ App. Food ordering will go liveon Saturday 5th of December at 8pm (20:00). Please click here for more details.


You will not be able to purchase food on site on the day, so please pre-order to avoid disappointment. 


Q: Can I bring my own food to the event?

A: Yes, you may bring your own food and drink with you to the show, we simply ask that you take all rubbish with you when you leave. 

Q: How does coming to this event support the air ambulance? 

A: 10% of all ticket sales will go to the WNDRL Air Ambulance and Children's Air Ambulance to support their fantastic life saving work. There will also be contactless 'bucket collection' at the event. 


Q: Are there toilet facilities on site? 

A: Yes, there will be toilets on site positioned at both sides of the parking area (this includes two disabled access toilets). The toilets will be monitored and cleaned regularly by an attendant. There will be clearly marked hand sanitising facilities. Please respect social distancing if queuing for the facilities. Please wear a face covering when walking to and from the toilets. 

Whilst we do have toilet facilities on site we urge that, where possible you use the toilet before coming to the event, this will limit mixing between household bubbles. 

Q: Will there be baby changing facilities on site? 

In view of this being a short event and people being asked to stay with their vehicles due to the current Covid 19 situation, baby changing facilities cannot be provided.


Q: Is smoking permitted on the site? 

A: Smoking and the use of vapes/e-cigarettes are not permitted at the showground. You must not smoke whilst outside your car anywhere on site.

Q: Can I bring sparklers to the show?

A: No, you must not bring sparklers or any other small fireworks. If you are found to have sparklers you will be asked to leave the site. 

Q: What should I do if my vehicle breaks down or becomes stuck on site? 

A: We have jumpstart equipment and towing facilities on hand if necessary. There will be helpful attendants positioned around the site if you require help please give one of them a shout and they will assist you. 

Q: How can I buy tickets?

Q: Can I reserve a parking space in advance? 

A: No, you cannot reserve spaces in advance. Parking spaces will be allocated on a first come first serve basis so we suggest arriving early if you want a front row spot. 

Q: Is there wheelchair access? 

A: Yes, we have wheelchair access facilities however the main covering of the area around the toilet is grass. If this makes it difficult to operate your chair around the grounds, we would be happy to provide assistance, including if you wish to request a parking space closer to the facilities. 

Q: Are there people on site to help me? 

A: Yes, there will be helpful attendants positioned across the site, wearing high visibility jackets. They will be able to attend to your needs. We ask that you simply switch on your hazard lights and someone will come and help you as soon as possible. 

Q: Can I come on foot? 

A: No, this is a drive-in fireworks event. 

Q: Am I allowed to bring my dog? 

A: No, due to the nature of the event you cannot bring your dog. 


Q: What if I need to leave before the display ends? 

A: Aside from in the case of an emergency you will not be able to leave the event before the end of the display. 


Q: What happens when the show is over? 

A: As soon as the show is over our carpark marshals will direct you off the site in an orderly manner. Please wait in your vehicle and follow our traffic management procedure when directed to do so. This way everyone can exit safely and as quickly as possible. If you have trouble with your vehicle and are unable to move, one of our parking attendants will be able to help you. 

Q: Can I get an exchange or refund on my tickets? 

A: Unless this event is postponed or cancelled as a result of a change in government guidelines we cannot offer refunds.

2020 has been a tough year for everyone, particularly those working in the events industry.

Komodo Fireworks and Roaming Giraffe Events are both local companies who, on a normal year, work at music festivals, parties and large events across the country. Like all of us, the pandemic brought these companies back to their home turf, and it was at the Roaming Giraffe coffee van, in the Welland Valley Feeds Carpark that Rob (MD at Komodo) and Hen (MD at Roaming Giraffe) dreamt up the idea of a socially distanced, drive-in fireworks event for the families of Market Harborough. 

Over a few flat whites and cappuccinos, the plan came together perfectly - and here we are, just a few weeks away, ready to welcome you all to a magnificent fireworks extravaganza. 

Running the event in support of the Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and Children's Air Ambulance Service was an obvious choice. Not only has this amazing charity continued to save lives throughout the pandemic, but Hen herself was rescued by them a few years ago. The charity is run solely on donations, so this is a great opportunity to provide them with some much needed funding so that they can continue to do their vital work. 


By purchasing a ticket for this event you will not only be supporting an amazing charity, but also local businesses who have been hit hard by the pandemic.
